2017 Pizza Meeting

Really?  You want the “minutes” on the Pizza Meeting?  How does one write down the “minutes” on a meeting that has only one purpose; eating pizza with good company?  When I walked in, the mood was festive, loud, and definitely all about people having a great time.  The pizza had not yet been served, so there was a lot of talking and beverages going around.  As a matter of fact, there was so much chatter that President John Emmering had a hard time calling the meeting to order.  When he finally did, there were many announcements that needed to be given.

First was a welcome to all the visitors, and there were quite a few.  They were: Chris Howe, Matt & Autumn Dehnert, Mary Partyka, Dave & Louise Artus, Tom Zulas, Ken Mocal, and Virgie Burnquist.  Of course, then John welcomed all the members of the Club.  We were pleased to meet in person our newest members, Ray & Mary McMahon, who were attending their first NIRG event.

There was an update on the current scores of the Team Contest:

It looks like the participation in Club events is keeping the scores in the upward direction, and this is great for all of us to see.

Several clipboards made the rounds with sign-up sheets for the many upcoming events:

· The next event is the Safety Check at Roundheads in Lombard on April 29th. (Note - rescheduled to May 6.

· Then Day at the Races on May 20th at Hawthorne Park.

· Then the H.I.P. Tour on the Lincoln Highway on June 3rd.

· And lastly, the Joint Tour with our Ohio friends on June 29-July 2nd.

I hope that you were able to sign up for one or more of these events as they all look to be a lot of fun.

Of course, what would a members’ meeting be without the 50-50 raffle?  With a group so large we all knew it was going to be a good amount of cash to one lucky winner.  Well, that lucky winner was JoAnne Stack!  She took home $65 to spend however she wanted.

After the raffle drawing most of the people starting leaving around 9:00.  It appeared that everyone had a great time catching up with one another while enjoying some good pizza.  Looking forward to seeing all of you in this summer’s driving season as the warm weather approaches.
