2016 Central National Meet - Abbreviated Version

Members who attended the 2016 CNM in Tulsa had a great time.  We plan to have a detailed report on the very successful meet and a lot of photos in a future issue.  For now, we wanted to include a brief summary so we can get this issue out only a few days late.

Driving their Early V-8s to Tulsa were George & Dawn Zulas - ‘40 Tudor, Jeff Trilling - ‘52 Pickup (Jeff’s wife Mondira joined us at the meet), and Ken & Carolyn Bounds - ‘51 Mercury.  Trailering were Frank Koeder - ‘39 Coupe, John & Este Scheve - ‘47 Coupe, and Ron Steck - ‘41 Station Wagon.  Joining us in a modern vehicle were John Slobodnik and son John.  Several of our “long distance” members were there too:  Marshal and Sue Adams from the Peoria area - ‘40 Pickup, Rick & Marisa Claybaugh from Tulsa, Kim Claybaugh - ‘34 Fordor, and Joe & Paula Baughn from Owasso, OK - ‘46 Coupe.

George Zulas had some minor problems which he was able to repair at the meet.  Jeff Trilling had more serious problems on the way down which turned out to be caused by a blown head gasket.  Although Jeff’s truck missed the concourse, he was able to find repairs and drove his truck on a driving tour and without problems on the trip home.

The following, shown below, received awards: Ken Bounds - Dearborn Medallion, John Scheve - 2nd Place Touring A, Ron Steck - 2nd Place Concourse, Frank Koeder - Dearborn Award, and Jeff Trilling - Hard Luck Trophy.

Also receiving awards but not shown were Kim Claybaugh - 1st Place Touring, Marshal Adams - 1st Place Touring, and Joe Baughn - 1st Place Touring A.
