Chicago Turner Pioneers Luncheon
By Ken Bounds
On March 5 Charles Kaiser hosted his annual Turner Pioneers corned beef luncheon
to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Once again he invited members of the Northern Illinois Regional Group to join
his Turners group for the luncheon, held at Café Prague in Chicago.
As guests began arriving before 1:00 pm, the NIRG folks sat in an area where
they could see a continuous video furnished by Charles of Ford V-8 assembly.
This year we had more room on the east side of the restaurant so we were not as
crowded as last year. It was great
to see one of our newest members, Pat Maroney, in attendance.
Before the food was served, there were appetizers on the table and drinks served
by the staff. We had plenty of time
to talk and visit with each other.
When the sandwiches were served, everyone agreed they were delicious, along with
the potato pancakes. After the meal
there were drawings for door prizes and several went home with a bottle of wine.
Enjoying the festivities from the NIRG were our host Charles Kaiser, Ken Bounds,
John Emmering, John Judge, Frank & Phyllis Madrigali, Pat Maroney, and George &
Dawn Zulas with their son Tom and his girlfriend Denise.
