Duals Night - Culver’s of Buffalo Grove

By Ken Bounds

On Saturday, May 10, Ron Blum hosted a Duals Night at Culver’s in Buffalo Grove.  Duals night is just an excuse to get the Early V-8s out and enjoy an evening of food, drink, and V-8 camaraderie while we kick a few tires.  Twenty-three NIRG members and family enjoyed a delightful Spring evening.  Those driving Early V-8s included our hosts, Ron & Arlene Blum –’40 Fordor, Ken & Carolyn Bounds – ’51 Mercury, John & Robin Emmering – ’51 Fordor, Joe & Nell Kozmic – ’53 Mercury, Dan & Diane Pudelek – ’53 Victoria, Joe & Delice Serritella – ’41 Coupe, John & Barb Slobodnik – ’54 Fordor, and Stan & JoAnne Stack – ’53 Tudor.  Arriving in modern iron were two of our newest members Ed & Gail Karch, Scott Gilday with daughters Reese & Ciena, and Frank & Phyllis Madrigali.  It was really nice to meet Ed and Gail at their first of what we hope will be many Club outings.

Everyone began gathering in the Culver’s parking lot around 5:30 pm.  After some time to check out the cars and enjoy each others’ company, Ron handed out coupons for everyone to use for their meals.  We went in to eat around 6:30, then returned to the cars for some more serious tire kicking.  Thanks to Ron for setting up a fun event.
