Bacon and Eights -  November 17 - Ritzy’s Café

All week long the weatherman was forecasting strong storms and tornados for Sunday the 17th.  We were worried about how many people would really show up for the event.  On Sunday when we got up and looked out the window, it was raining heavily with very strong winds.  The winds started to diminish around 8:00 AM and the rain had stopped by 9:00 AM.

Madeleine and I left for Ritzy’s at 9:30 and the sky was clear with the sun trying to peek out from behind the clouds.  We met Ken Bounds, Norm Collins and his two granddaughters and his great grandson, Joe and Marie Dispensa, Scott Gilday, Gene and Earl Heintz, John Judge, Joe and Nell Kozmic, Phyllis and Frank Madrigali, Dan Pudelek, Barbara and John Slobodnik and Irene and Len Vinyard.

The restaurant had two long table groups set up for us in the dining room and we had the room all to ourselves.  It was nice to not be crowded and in a noisy environment.  The food was good, but the waitress got the orders mixed up.  When everything was straightened out, we enjoyed our meals and company.  The weather held up until it was time to leave, then the storms started again.  We had a much better day than the people at the Bears game or the people downstate.

We missed Joanne and Stan Stack and Sue and Ron Dopke who were under the weather with cold symptoms and Diane Pudelek was also not feeling well.  We hope that they are all feeling better.
