Pizza Meeting

The annual NIRG pizza meeting was held April 18 at John’s Pizza in Addison with over 50 members and family in attendance.  Our sincere thanks once again to Bob & Angie Paladino for hosting the event.  Thanks also to Len Vinyard for collecting the money.

As usual, it looked like everyone had a great time.  There was plenty of delicious pizza for everyone – they just kept ‘em coming.  It was nice to see quite a few members that we don’t get to see that often, including Angie Paladino, Dick & Dot Alfini, Sam & Grace Iusi, Tom Young, and Marty & Leah Duling.  It was also a great opportunity to meet some of our newest members.  Gladys Duzell was looking very good and fully recovered after her recent cataract surgery.

Marty brought along a slideshow on his computer of the recent tornado damage in Springfield.  It was a close call, but Marty said that they he and Leah had no significant damage.  Hopefully some of you got to see the pictures.

Branson, MO. For some reason Dan had never received his Rouge trophy and out of the blue it recently arrived in Tom’s mailbox.  Actually, it was a touring trophy and Tom has no idea why it was sent to him.  But Dan does have the Rouge strip to attach to it, so after all these years he has received the award for the first time he and Diane showed the ’53 at a V-8 meet.  Coincidentally, Dan has just had the car repainted and the chrome re-done, so we are anxious to see how it came out.

The 50-50 raffle was a big hit, with Dick Alfini being the lucky winner of $65.  Dick generously donated his winnings back to the club – thank you Dick!
